Growing up the daughter of a swim coach and less than a mile from Long Island Sound, I was constantly by the water. I am very grateful to say that swim team, sailing, synchronized swimming, lifeguarding, boating, fishing and even windsurfing were all a part of my life. After moving to Northern California in 1995, I frequently hiked and painted the many beaches of Point Reyes National Seashore. I loved taking my sons to surfing and sailing lessons and hiking the vast, open spaces by the California Coast.
For over two decades, I gave a percentage of my sales back to organic farming non-profits, the land and communities where I’ve lived and painted. Protecting the oceans, water supply and earth have never been more important to me.
My paintings and art created from Maui to Maine have focused on the land and oceans, and I have always been committed to learning as much about the needs of local communities where I paint while doing so with an environmentally focused plan. We must commit to organic practices and reach net zero for our oceans and watersheds.
